Michael D. Russell, LEED AP                                      Senior CAD/BIM Specialist & Project Manager

Mike brings to the Brame Heck Architects invaluable skill sets as lead CAD, Revit Specialist and LEED AP BD+C accredited professional with USGBC. He is able to focus on small details of a project that brings together the overall completeness of a project in the finish executed design. His talent and abilities keeps expanding and growing as technology keeps changing year after year. As the project develops into the final stages of documentation, he coordinates and communicates with the other disciplines in order to make the working set harmonious for the builders to understand. He then works to manage the project as it goes from paper into reality.

He began his career working under the tutorage of green and passive solar architect, Richard Webster in Asheville, NC. He spent 3 years hand drafting, sketching and designing residential and commercial projects in the area in which he grew up while learning how green technology can impact the environment and world around us.

Mike joined Brame Heck Architects shortly after moving to Gainesville almost 20 years ago and has used computer aided drafting ever since. He was worked on a wide variety of projects and has increased his responsibilities with each new project. As modeling and 3D software was introduced in the office, his ability to learn quickly and adapt to the new design environment was helpful for others in the office to learn from his new skill sets. After earning a diploma from the Sheffield School of Interior Design and his previous years of working as a cabinet designer, he has become the lead on our interior design and works closely with the principal architect to finalize the overall motif of the project. He also enjoys doing some architectural competitions which helps sharpen his skills as a designer/drafter for the firm.
