Synquest New Laboratory Facility

Study + Schematic Design

This project was to assist in evaluating Synquest processes and workflows for a new laboratory facility. Using surveys, interviews with personnel, client provided information on staffing, organizational charts, and narratives, in order to understand operations and space needs. A facilities program was developed in order to evaluate qualitative requirements, space adjacencies and other building needs. A conceptual layout on a site was developed with sufficient detail to establish building size, general layout, and massing.  The final report included detailed narratives, diagrams, renderings, schematic floor plans, and cost opinion.

University of Florida

Library West New Colonnade Conceptual Design

Our team proposed a design-build approach for the Putnam County Animal Control facility emphasizing collaboration, efficiency, and budget control. This conceptual design accommodated user needs while ensuring flexibility for future growth. Key priorities include animal welfare, staff safety, proper ventilation, lighting, and functional layouts. The facility will feature welcoming public spaces and efficient workflows.

Bradford County

New Emergency Operations Center (EOC) + 911 Call Center

This project was completed for Bradford County in 2022. The program includes an 1800 square foot operations room, secondary meeting and conference spaces, kitchen, quiet room, offices, and showers. The building also includes a 911 dispatch/call center and is designed as a storm shelter to ICC-500 criteria. Consideration was given to the day-to-day use of the building as well as the emergency functions it would serve. State funding for construction and site design is in process.

Library West New Colonnade Conceptual Design

Conceptual design was completed for a new Colonnade for students along the southern edge of Library West at the University of Florida. The colonnade would provide shelter and flexible outdoor student workspaces with plenty of natural light. 3D renderings and conceptual plans were developed for fundraising efforts. This project is still in the fundraising stage and has been revisited three times in the last ten years to update code requirements.

City of Lake City

City Hall Feasibility Analysis

This project involved programming and preliminary design analysis for a new City Hall building accommodating 40 employees with future growth. A space needs assessment covered multiple departments, including Administration, IT, and Finance. Surveys identified requirements, adjacencies, and security needs. A detailed program with narratives and diagrams illustrated departmental relationships and public access. Three design options were developed, each with budget estimates based on square-foot costs and rendering.
