Classroom Relocation

This project involved renovations to the church campus to support the children’s ministry and improve safety, functionality, and flexibility. The goal was to relocate Sunday school classrooms away from the sanctuary and create new classroom space within the existing Family Center footprint, providing a more secure and organized check-in and pick-up process while eliminating cross-traffic issues. The project accommodated approximately 100 students per service, from infants through 12th grade, with about half relocating to the new space and older students remaining in a renovated youth area. The design explored adaptive reuse of existing spaces, including the auditorium, while maintaining its use for church and homeschool groups. Construction is expected to begin in Fall 2026.

North Central Baptist Church Renovation + Addition

North Central Baptist Church required an addition to their church sanctuary building. This included practical amenities like restrooms, and presented a chance to elevate the building’s public image while also incorporating a small meeting and public gathering space. The lobby area of the addition was designed to accommodate gatherings of 40-80 people and could be easily adjusted for various purposes. The space also featured hospitality/coffee service area equipped with WIFI, serving as a conducive spot for student study sessions. The exterior facade of the lobby included a large glass window to act as a public ‘beacon’ when lit at night.

Master Planning Study

This Master Plan Study included a programming and feasibility analysis to expand the facility within existing property constraints. The study confirmed the ability to increase seating capacity to 300 and expand parking without impacting the cemetery. The expansion has been planned in two phases. The conceptual design for the new Fellowship Hall included 10 classrooms, a kitchen, workroom, storage, conference room, restrooms, and five offices. The plan also proposed sanctuary renovations and relocation of existing structures. The church is currently fundraising.

Rectory Conceptual Study

The purpose of this project was to analyze cost and functionality for a multi-purpose rectory. Two options were explored, one being an expansion/ renovation of the existing rectory, and the other option being a new structure. A Program was developed to identify functions of the space, appropriate space sizes, critical adjacencies, and equipment accommodation. A preliminary Code Review was prepared to note major conditions or requirements to be met by the design. A budget analysis, conceptual plan, and renderings were developed to compare both options.

Construction is expected to begin in Fall 2026.

New Administration Building

This was a new building to provide adequate support facilities on the existing church campus. Included were 13 offices, record storage facilities and meeting rooms. Energy efficiency played an important role and as a result led lighting was used throughout and VRF units were utilized throughout. Soils were determined to contain amounts of expansive materials which required the design and construction of a post tensioned slab which was honed and stained in the lobby.

New Parish Life Center

Located on the Holy Faith Catholic Church campus, this facility received the 2017 City Beautification Award for its design and contribution to the community. The project involved a new multi-purpose and classroom building supporting worship, educational, and social activities. The building is organized around a large, flexible assembly space with an adjacent kitchen and serving area. The main assembly space includes an elevated stage and seating for approximately 500 people. Folding partitions allow the space to be divided into three smaller rooms, supporting a variety of activities. Classrooms support the church’s education program, including a nursery and youth room.
