Roswell Surgery Center New Building Shell
Brame Heck Architects served as a design consultant to L3 Healthcare Design and architect of record for a new one-story building shell and new orthopedic surgery center. The shell was designed and built first under one permit, followed by the interior build-out design and plumbing design under a second permit. This project included spaces for operating rooms, procedure rooms, offices, and clinical spaces.
Perry Animal Hospital Renovation
The Perry Animal Hospital project involved renovating an existing 2,600 square foot CMU building and adding approximately 1,200 square feet of new space. The renovation included updated fixtures, finishes, and a code compliance review. During construction, previously altered roof trusses were found to pose structural risks, prompting a redesign with updated wind load requirements in collaboration with engineer. Interior improvements included replacing kennel partitions and casework with more functional systems. The planned metal stud addition was changed to wood framing for cost efficiency.

Veterinary Medicine Teaching Lab Renovation
This project renovated an existing surgery lab to reorganize the space, add teaching stations (18 total), and create a new dog ward with 18 kennels, food prep, and sanitation. New surgical lighting and acoustical treatment were added to meet College of Medicine standards. Completed on an accelerated schedule, design began in December 2021 and
construction in May 2022, while existing surgery
lighting was retained to stay within budget.
